Stand with Andrea and George and call for a future free from homelessness

Andrea and George have both experienced homelessness.

Between them they've faced sofa-surfing, being forced to sleep rough, unfair eviction and unscrupulous landlords. The insecurity and stress has affected their mental health.

What they experienced is unacceptable. They want politicians to act.

But no major political party is talking about the need to tackle rising homelessness or presenting the solutions needed.

Homelessness is rising. Soaring bills, rising rents, and a sheer lack of affordable housing are making it harder for us all to have a safe, secure and affordable home. We don’t have to be a country where more than 250,000 families and individuals are facing the worst forms of homelessness.

We’re calling for the UK Government and all political parties to commit to a national mission to end all forms of homelessness.

This means:

  • Ending homelessness by increasing the supply of truly affordable, decent homes.
  • Urgent action to support people who would otherwise be forced into the worst forms of homelessness, like sleeping rough
  • Fixing the welfare, health and homelessness systems for the long-term

Let’s come together to show politicians that we won’t tolerate homelessness any longer. Let’s make history and build a future free from homelessness.

Stand with Andrea, George and everyone facing homelessness, and add your name today.

Andrea and George's stories

Andrea

Andrea’s flat has no cooker, fridge or working boiler. Her landlord issued her with an eviction notice in 2021. “We're waiting for my landlady to apply for the bailiffs. Until she does that, I'm stuck here because the council will not move me out. We don't know what's next for us. Everyone deserves a home - it's a human right. We're all stronger if we work together on it.” Read Andrea’s full story.

George

“Being homeless a few times in my life, including sleeping rough and sofa-surfing, has had an impact on my mental health. I’ve got a permanent place now. Things are really moving forward. I’m passionate about campaigning to end homelessness because nothing will change unless we put pressure on the people in charge. They need to put housing at the forefront of their mind.” Read George’s full story.
