We all need a safe, decent, affordable home. But across Scotland, more people are being forced into homelessness every day.

More children are growing up in temporary accommodation. More people are being forced to sleep rough. And as the cost of living crisis eats away at incomes across Scotland, more people are being pushed closer to homelessness. We see it in official statistics, and we see it as more people come to us for support.

We need to act now, to stop more people from being forced from their homes.

Last year, the Scottish Government committed new laws to prevent homelessness in Scotland, through the upcoming Housing Bill.

Based on proposals from Crisis, these laws could mean people being able to get help much earlier, before they become homeless. These new laws could be applied to other public bodies, as well as homelessness services, making preventing homelessness everybody’s business.

We are expecting to see the government’s plans very soon, but we need your help to make sure the new laws are robust and properly funded.

By keeping up pressure, we can make sure the Housing Bill is effective in stopping more people being forced from their home.
