Join the campaign for a future free from homelessness

We won a pledge from the UK Government to produce a plan to ‘get Britain back on track to ending homelessness’.

This is a once in a generation opportunity to make lasting change. We’re urging the UK Government to step up and deliver a future free from homelessness for us all.

A safe, stable home is the foundation for a healthy and full life. But right now, soaring living costs and a shortage of truly affordable homes mean that record numbers of people are being forced into homelessness.

But we’re hopeful. We won a pledge from the UK Government to produce a plan to ‘get Britain back on track to ending homelessness’.

It’s up to us to make sure this plan delivers a future where all of us have a safe home.

It's not right that more than 169,000 children in England are growing up homeless in temporary accommodation, restricting their life chances and trapping them in poverty. Or that more than 1.3 million people are waiting for a social home.

The support we should all get to protect us from homelessness just isn’t working. The UK Government needs to step up.

A future free from homelessness means building social rent homes and unfreezing housing benefit so people can afford their rent. It means everyone being able to get the right support when they need it.

And it means preventing homelessness before it happens by fixing our welfare system and making sure public services work together.
